Facilitation, ritual & circle work

Why be in circle?

I am called to guide groups of people to reconnection, action and transformation through the terrain of grief, rage, shame, power, privilege, spirit, ancestors, despair and the natural world. Change is fractal, and I believe healing on a societal level is located within and between us, in the body, and the body of the community.

Who do I work with?

I am available to work with any group of people gathering around shared privilege(s) to show up for social, racial, economic or environmental justice. This might be your organization, class, fellowship program, direct action affinity group, team, family foundation, intentional community, giving circle, etc. I work predominantly on Zoom in these times.

The Work That Reconnects

I offer three-hour to multi-day workshops in the Work That Reconnects, a group process that serves as a doorway to self, other, ancestors, descendants and the Earth. As a white person with wealth and class privilege, I believe in the Work as a crucial frame for inviting those of us carrying these identities into the work that is ours to do to show up and dismantle racialized capitalism. It empowers us to expand our awareness and capacity to respond whole-heartedly to the pain we see in the world. It begins but doesn't stop with self-transformation, inviting action at a depth commensurate with the crisis.

OTHER facilitation

I am also available as a facilitator for processes guided by the needs of your group — whether visioning, aligning with values, grieving, reconciling from conflict, deepening in relationship, making funding decisions, reflecting on your work or something else. I also offer workshops on anti-racist genealogy and divesting from the extractive economy. Please be in touch to discuss how I might be able to support you and your community.

Testimonials

“Your workshop was transformative. You succeeded in creating a space where I, and I suspect many others, felt able to dig deep, deep, deeper. A space of trust. I have been part of different groups and workshops and I have a sense of how challenging it is to create that kind of space, to let the wisdom of the group a chance to rise. You did that. Each exercise felt exquisitely crafted. I think for me, the "what gets in the way of repair?", asked 4 times, was the most groundbreaking (and devastating).” - Evie Lovett

“I think you are amazing facilitator. You created such an intentional container for the space that was simultaneously radical and unwavering in its dignity and also accessible and welcoming. I think the way you reflect back to people, strengthen connections between people, and offer guidance is inspiring. Thank you for your leadership, bravery, and presence. I look forward to being in this work with you for the rest of my life.” - Edin Cook

“I just wanted to say thanks again for your beautiful facilitation the other night for the giving circle. You clearly have a gift for that and I was really appreciative of the way you held the space. Thanks for continuing to inspire me and others in the bold and heartfelt redistribution of resources and for the trust and respect you cultivate. You allowed space for us to talk and struggle and scheduled in ample time for the process—that was key. You did the miraculous by facilitating and moving things along without it feeling overly facilitated or controlled. Overall, the tone you set from the beginning was spot on.” - Darrow Feldstein

"Morgan's facilitation makes you feel safe and held, while also being challenged to ask some difficult questions that we all need to be grappling with. Her own commitment to social change and the stories that she paints of her work makes you trust in her leadership as well as lets you know that she is truly in community with us." — Kazu Haga, East Point Peace Academy

“I could not have been paired with a better pod leader at Resource Generation’s Making Money Making Change Conference. The depth with which Morgan has looked at her own class and wealth privilege is palpable from the depth her facilitation work guided our group to at MMMC. As someone who deeply cares about and has mostly worked for system change from many different angles, I felt like a newcomer to the topic of class and wealth privilege. Morgan’s calm spirit, impactful questions, and true passion for a more just world, changed my life path toward one where my actions and values are more aligned than ever, and where I have more hope for what the future holds. I’m grateful to have gained this knowledge at this point in my life and that Morgan is bringing this work to young people with class and wealth privilege.” — Kat Eutsler

“Morgan designed and led a daylong retreat for the Sunrise Movement Bay Area chapter that was one of the more meaningful events we’ve ever put on. She guided a group of young activists — some of whom knew each other and some of whom didn’t, all coming from different backgrounds and experiences — through a series of activities that helped create a shared container and invited them to bring their full hope and grief to the work that many had never done before. Morgan facilitated the space with incredible skill and was able to assess where the group was at and adjust her plans to meet the needs. We got feedback after the retreat that it was a powerful and pivotal experience for many of our members, helping folks feel more committed and connected to each other and the work.” — Morissa Zuckerman, Sunrise Movement Bay Area

“I have experienced Morgan facilitating with grace, calm, and integrity. I admire how she brings her intelligence and capabilities to preparing the agenda, taking minutes, staying on track, managing time, and including all voices. She skillfully tends to everyone’s needs and does so with joy.” — Anne Symens-Bucher, Founder + Board President, Canticle Farm
